Demi came to us in June 2021 from Romania with 2 other dogs who have since been rehomed.
He lived in a foster home after being rescued from the streets in Romania and was then transported to the UK, he has been with us ever since.
Demi can really struggle to trust new people and he can take time to come out of his shell and feel comfortable as a result. He will require an owner who is willing to gain his trust and give him the time he needs; this will likely mean any prospective adopter will need to visit him multiple times at the sanctuary before taking him home.
Demi has shown he can be dog sociable but will prefer to be an only dog to help him settle into life in a home and have an owner devoted solely to him to work through any challenges he may face.
Demi needs to be given time to learn that the world isn’t a scary place.
For this reason, Demi would be most suited to living in a rural area, we feel he will struggle with the business of a town or city.
Demi is an incredible dog who, whilst he can be quite nervous at times, is an extremely loyal and affectionate dog and will make someone a wonderful companion. When he is comfortable around you, he is known to enjoy a fuss and a cuddle on the sofa and will even give you his belly to be rubbed.
Demi walks nicely on a lead and a harness.
He is not suited to living with any other animal but could be rehomed with children of 16 years and over. The quieter the home the better for Demi.
