Demi is a very handsome Romanian boy with a very sweet character. He walks nicely on a lead, knows his basic commands and is very affectionate. Once settled in with his new owner we can see he has the potential to be an amazing, loyal companion.
Demi came over to us from Romania in June 2021 along with 2 others. Unfortunately for Demi, he still remains with us, while his friends were successfully rehomed some time ago now.
During Demi’s time with us at the sanctuary we recognised he perhaps had some issues that needed addressing, likely to be as a result of his street dog background and past. We have since had a professional behaviourist visit Demi at the sanctuary and assess his behaviour and body language to help determine where his triggers may lie. From this assessment, we can see that Demi would require a home in a rural location, preferably with an all female, adult household. His owner would benefit from some canine body language knowledge as Demi is a good communicator and will give warning about not being happy.
Probably the most important requirement for Demi’s new owner will be someone who is willing to give him the time to take things very, very slowly with him. Introductions will need to be done on Demi’s terms and once he is allowed to take his time he truly is a wonderful boy.
Demi’s home must be quiet, calm, with no other animals.
Demi will be rehomed with the support of a qualified behaviourist covered by PACT.
