Chester needs a home with no other pets or children.
Could you be Chester’s perfect match?
Chester’s ideal home
We understand that Chester is unique in his own expectations of life in a home but we love him for it. He is in a way an introvert and would be quite happy with a companion to enjoy the outdoors, tasty meals and a comfy bed. Because of this he would suit a home where there are leaving hours in the day. We have spent a long time with Chester, helping with improving his behaviour at the vets as well as being able to be groomed and more importantly, getting to know Chester as an individual so we can match him with the right home. Chester’s new home will need an outdoor kennel or a room of his own that has direct access into the garden that Chester can use as his living space. His ideal home would be in a single person household but he could potentially live with a maximum of 2 people. Chester is pretty aloof when it comes to other dogs so he will need to be the only dog in the home; he can have calm walking friends as long as they don’t want too much from him. Due to his prey drive Chester isn’t suitable to live with cats or small furries. He’s very much a country boy so would prefer a quiet, more rural home; city life isn’t for Chester. Chester will require several meets here at the centre so his brilliant handlers can show you his training. During the reserve process we would also bring Chester out to the home for visits so it’s important that you live no more than an hour away from us.
Could you be Chester’s perfect match?
Likely due to his life prior to coming into Dogs Trust, Chester in general quite likes his own company. He enjoys being with his handlers, loves his walks and is pretty good with his training, he knows an abundance of skills, but if you are looking for a tactile social butterfly, that isn’t Chester. He is very outdoorsy, and no surprise given his breed so if you thrive in the outdoors then Chester will enjoy coming out with you.
