Bunty and Lottie are 2 wonderful little dogs who sadly found themselves in our care after their owner passed away. They have been in the same home all of their lives and have clearly been doted on by their owner.
Bunty and Lottie are friendly, sweet natured dogs who love to be around people at all times, Bunty is the braver of the 2 with Lottie being a little shy at times. Both of them are very affectionate and enjoy a fuss and will make wonderful companions to any prospective owner/s. All these girls really want is a warm, loving home to feel safe in again and would really benefit from a home where someone is at home for the majority of the time as Bunty has been known to howl when left.
Bunty is a 12 year old OAP looking for her final retirement home. Bunty does unfortunately have some health issues, she has a heart murmur that does not affect her and she also suffers with an eye condition that requires her to have eye drops administered twice a day. Giving Bunty her eye drops is very easy to do and she does not mind at all. We will continue to cover the cost of any treatment involved with these health conditions for the remainder of Bunty’s life. Because of Bunty’s eye condition she does struggle with her sight at times and can occasionally bump into things but for the most part she copes very well. Being an older lady she is slightly hard of hearing as well.
Lottie is slightly younger than Bunty at 9 years old, she has no pre existing health conditions and is fit and well. Lottie takes her confidence from her companion Bunty and prefers to take her time getting to know people. This doesn’t take very long at all though and she soon becomes very loving! Lottie is not particularly fond of other dogs, she has been known in her previous home to bark at them when out on walks however, we have seen no signs of this at the sanctuary. Being a terrier, Lottie has the typical trait of wanting to chase small furry things, she does not like cats and has been known to chase birds, for this reason she would not be suitable to be let off the lead whilst out on walks.
Bunty and Lottie both enjoy their walks, they prefer a slower pace of life and enjoy stopping to sniff everything! Neither of them pull on the lead and they both know their basic commands. A game of fetch with a ball is the best thing ever for Bunty and Lottie!
Bunty and Lottie are both house trained and are happy to go for short journeys in the car. They are not suited to living with other dogs and much prefer the company of one another, they could be suitable for social lead walks if introduced slowly. They are not suitable to live with cats. We are looking for a quiet home for these girls and feel they would be best suited to a home with older children over the age of 12.
Bunty and Lottie are incredibly bonded and do not like to be apart so must be rehomed together!
Bunty and Lottie will require access to a private, secure garden attached to the home with a minimum of 5ft fencing.
