Everybody meet Bourbon, how cute is he?!
Bourbon is a Yorkshire terrier cross who we have estimated to be around 3 years old. He came into our care at the start of November from the dog warden after he had been found as a stray and was sadly never claimed.
Due to Bourbon being a stray, we do not have any background history for him, therefore, any judgments made have been based on his time spent at the sanctuary.
Bourbon is a very sweet and friendly little dog who loves to say hello to everyone he meets! He enjoys any kind of fuss and loves a cuddle with his carers. He is great company and we believe he will bring any new owner/s lots of joy and happiness.
Bourbon enjoys his home comforts and loves to snuggle up on a sofa and play with toys. He is mostly clean in his kennel but the challenges of searching for the perfect home have taken a toll, leading him to channel his stress by playfully expressing frustration on rugs and curtains. With the promise of a stimulating environment and a dedicated, loving family, we are confident that Bourbon will find the peace and stability he deserves and outgrow this behaviour in time.
Bourbon knows his basic commands such as sit and down and walks well in a harness. He does pull on the lead slightly so he would benefit from further training in his new home.
We believe Bourbon has had very little socialisation with other dogs before coming to us. He gets easily overwhelmed around dogs that are bigger than him and due to his independent nature we feel he would be best suited as the only dog in the home, he would however be suitable for social dog walks.
Bourbon is not suitable to live with cats, he is not fond of them and likes to chase and bark at them. He also would not be suitable to live with small animals due to his breed.
Bourbon requires access to a private, secure garden attached to the home with a minimum of 5ft fencing/boundaries.
