Bobby is a 12 year old Jack Russel x Daxi who is fostered in Hingham, Norfolk.
Bobby first came to us in June 2019 – he was a yard dog , and had very little socialisation with humans apart from being ill treated . He was not touchable for some time and once touched he would scream with terror.! Over time he started to trust his fosterer and finally found his home with a lovely patient caring lady in 2019 who unfortunately became unwell and could no longer keep him , he came back to his foster mum in June 20 and was again in time rehomed to a lovely lady who adored him , she unfortunately became unwell and 2 years on he is now back again with his foster mum where he is loved dearly.
We are looking for a local norfolk home for him.
He is a very special boy who has come so far but even still needs reassurance and patience as his scars and fear run deep!
Bobby needs a confident owner who will not shy away from his fears , once trust is gained he loves strokes, and cuddles . At home Bobby feels safest up high in his bed on top of a crate or raised area.
Bobby loves his walks therefore he needs a very agile person to take him on long walks twice daily , it would need to be countryside , he would not cope with a busy area – he has missed out on this for years and has lots of making up to do !
He wants a quiet home with no children and although tolerates dogs would be happy with one quiet dog in the family or none. He is not cat tested.
He is nervous of visitors and the adopter would have to be prepared to put him in another room if needed.
He is definitely a ladies man and still can be very nervous of men so ideally looking for a lady only home.
So third time lucky now to find his forever home – after being returned twice his foster mum will be looking for a five star home any enquiries that do not follow the criteria will not be contacted for him.
Bobby is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped , adoption fee applies.
If you are interested please message or call between 9am to 5pm Mon – Fri or 9am to 4pm Sat. Tel 07788251197 / 07899844524.
Our adoption fee is on average £350, dependant on the dog, they are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered).
Adoption Policy
When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period.
Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure.
The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm.
Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer.
Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs.
Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate.
Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered).
